This section is dedicated to publishing all sound science in the field of perinatal and child health. It aims to better the understanding of the health of mothers and babies during pregnancy, delivery and the postpartum period, as well as during infancy and early childhood. The section contributes to maternal and child health knowledge, enhances the interaction between research, policy and practice and stimulates health monitoring and indicator development.

We welcome submissions on maternal and child health outcomes and their determinants, with clear statements about the public health and policy implications. We encourage methodological papers, papers on perinatal health services research,  community interventions, and epidemiological studies dealing with international comparisons, the determinants of inequality in health, and the environmental, behavioural, social, demographic and occupational correlates of health and disease.
